Increasing Graduation Rates
Hennepin County Commissioners and Superintendents are leading a joint effort to improve the county’s overall high school graduation rate. Intermediate District 287 has convened a series of discussions with the 18 Superintendents and the County Commissioners to begin addressing a goal of raising the graduation rate from 68% to 80% by 2015.
Action resulting from these meetings has included:
- Preparing a draft model for a regional approach to dropout recovery; and
- Convening an “Innovation Incubator” to determine indicators of a successful model to reach the goal; and
- Proposing a series of next steps
