Congratulations to Erin Smouse for winning the Above and Beyond Award at Northern Star Online. She is a Language Arts Instructor and Instructional Coach at NSO and was nominated in the in the Evidence-Based Instruction category by her colleagues. 

Erin puts 100% of herself into everything she does. Whether it's teaching kids in her NSO language arts courses or coaching NSO teachers, Erin is 100% present to the people she is with. She has helped NSO reach for our SIP goals by planning and implementing professional development activities around equity, and trauma-responsive practices, and instruction. When it comes to online instruction, Erin is an expert at student and family communication, instructional feedback, and lesson design and management.

Erin has also helped NSO instructional coach navigate AI and how to communicate to students around AI practices. Erin is above and beyond, and we are so proud of you.
