Gateway to College
Gateway to College is an area learning center designed for students aged 16 to 22 looking to complete their high school requirements while simultaneously progressing toward a college degree or occupational certificate.
Gateway to College provides:
- Exposure to a college environment
- Exploration of multiple career and technical fields
- Instruction via the Modern Classroom Model
- On site mental health professionals
- Personalized approach to mental health and social emotional learning
- Preparation for post-secondary success
In today’s global economy, more than 80 percent of the fastest growing jobs will require education or training beyond high school. We are looking for students who have the desire and determination to learn, work hard, and earn a high school diploma and be ready to transition onto higher education.

Gateway to College Overview
How to Enroll
After reviewing the general overview of the program, please reach out to Allison Gooley to begin the enrollment process.
- Send you or your student’s full name, date of birth, and last attended school to Allison Gooley (amgooley@district287.org). Please indicate whether you or your student have an IEP or 504 plan.
- Once general and special education records have been received, enrollment meeting times and paperwork will be sent. Enrollment meetings offer students and guardians the opportunity to hear more about the program, review their credit standing, and tour the building.
- Students with an IEP or 504 plan will also have the opportunity to meet their case manager and determine how services will be given on site.
- Once an enrollment meeting has been held and all paperwork has been received, the team will determine the earliest start date.
