Gateway to College

Students will have a Block schedule with an advisory and W.I.N. (What I Need). We use the Modern Classroom instructional model where students work at a consistent pace with some flexibility. Students don’t move onto the next lesson simply because it’s time or because they completed the requisite work. They move on when they have mastered the concept and are ready to build on that skill.

Students are eligible for graduation once they’ve completed the Minnesota State Standards. Students are required to complete 21.5 credits. 

Once a student is eligible for graduation, their diploma will be conferred through either Eden Prairie High School or their district of residence. Participation in your resident school’s commencement is not guaranteed. 

Students residing in the Eden Prairie or Wayzata school districts have the opportunity to utilize their shuttle. Gateway to College is unable to provide transportation outside of these two options.

Breakfast and lunch are provided at no additional cost.

All students will receive a Chromebook and charger on their first day. Additional supplies will be provided as needed in the classroom. 

Students receiving special education services or a 504 plan will have access to a case manager. Availability of services will be discussed during a students enrollment meeting after all documentation has been received and reviewed.

In a Modern Classroom Project, the school curriculum is accessible online. It is still expected that students are present in school each day, participating in small group work and receiving frequent feedback from their teacher. Consistent attendance is expected. Research shows that students succeed and stay "on pace" when attending school. If a student misses fifteen consecutive days, they will be temporarily withdrawn. A re-enrollment meeting will be scheduled or other educational opportunities will be shared with the student to ensure they can be successful.
