• Students will demonstrate leadership within the shop environment, through peer mentorship and demonstration of skills learned in prior Outdoor Power Sports courses.
• Throughout the semester, students will showcase their practical skills by completing six “shop level” projects, each individually designed and approved by the instructor, while under the mentorship of an industry expert.
• Students will actively contribute to the understanding of the course concepts by leading three discussions during the lecture sessions, with topics subject to instructor approval.

• Develop a comprehensive plan to refinish vehicles, mastering the operation of equipment and paint application while prioritizing environmental safety.
• Learn the ins and outs of handling hazardous wastes responsibly, alongside essential skills such as buffing, detailing, and creating damage reports, all while adhering to safety regulations set by EPA and OSHA.
• Dive into various aspects including paint types, color codes, paint mixing techniques, and manufacturer paint systems, culminating in hands-on practice to refine your vehicle refinishing expertise.

• Gain mastery in utilizing Oxyacetylene Systems and MIG welders. Acquire the skills to proficiently perform MIG welds on both steel and aluminum, adapting to different positions, particularly focusing on their application in repairing automobiles.
• Learn how to use tools for shaping metal and fabricating things with them, helping you understand how to work with different materials.
• You’ll learn how to fix dents, use special tools, and apply fillers, as well as remove and align car parts to make repairs like a pro.

• Gain exposure to Trade Knowledge, Welding Safety, Steering/Suspension, alignment angles and Introductory Automotive Electrical concepts.
