School-based assistive technology services (AT) are provided to students who require specialized AT services as part of their special educational program at NEC.
The Itinerant Autism Spectrum Disorders Program provides customized services to students aged birth to 21 years who have met educational criteria under the special education category of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), or who are in need of an evaluation to qualify for services.
The role of the behavior support professional is to provide expertise and support for students who have challenging behaviors.
Chemical Health support is available to students through individual contact, classroom curriculum, and group activity. Introduction is most often made through administration of the “PESQ” or Personal Experience Screening Questionnaire.
At NEC we are lucky to have six great curriculum specialists who specialize in literacy, math, science, and physical education.
School Social Workers use an ecological perspective to link school, home, and the community together. We help build relationships with family and school for a shared approach to help promote student learning.
School-based occupational therapy (OT) is provided to students who require OT as part of their special educational program at NEC.
The School Counselor at NEC provides consultation to staff, parents, and students.
School psychologists help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
The range of speech/language services at NEC is designed to be flexible to meet the unique needs of students and support staff.
Therapy animals are a very important part of the day for many students. There are presently no Therapy Animals at NEC.
