Edgewood Education Center News
Creativity and bravery were at play at Edgewood Education Center when students performed the 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll All-Stars Show. For the past 16 weeks students have been practicing, performing and perfecting music and dance from the past five decades.
The show is a result of a unique partnership between Intermediate District 287 and COMPAS, a statewide, non-profit arts organization, funded through an Arts Learning Grant by the Minnesota State Arts Board. The arts residency program joins local musicians with students and teachers to collaborate and enhance arts learning in school.
Soli Hughes, the resident musician who has been working with students since February, has been involved in educational music residencies for over twenty years. He has a passion and talent for engaging and inspiring students in the discovery of art and music.
Kudos to our students, the amazing staff at Edgewood and Mr. Hughes for putting on a stellar show.
