News & Information
Governor Mark Dayton declared January 25-30 as Minnesota Para Professional Week. Para professionals are called Education Assistants in District 287.
This is a time when we honor our Education Assistants, Interpreters and Parent Child Specialists for all their work in our programs. We currently have almost 400 employees who fill these important roles.
This week is also the time we recognize years of service with milestone anniversaries by years of employment here at District 287. While we note anniversaries beginning at five years, this year we have 17 staff members who have been here for 30 or more years.
In November, Cindy Brose, an Education Assistant at Edgewood Education Center, was name Minnesota Para Professional of the Year by Education Minnesota. She and Superintendent Sandy Lewandowski took part in ceremonies with students and staff attending to cheer Cindy on.
