The P-EBT cards for qualifying special education students have started to arrive at our District Service Center. We received the first batch of cards on June 1. Please note this first batch does not contain every student’s card – we expect to receive more over the next several days. The cards we have received are currently being mailed to the parent / guardian of the student named on the card. Included in the mailing will be a flyer explaining how to activate and use the card. We will continue to mail out cards as they arrive in batches over the next few weeks. Please watch your mailbox for your P-EBT card to arrive soon. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this P-EBT process.
Students who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals and all students enrolled at North Education Center, who did not opt out, will receive Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) funds during the 2020-2021 school year. P-EBT funds can be used to buy healthy food for your student and family. The P-EBT benefit amount will be based on your students’ date of enrollment at our district, qualification date for free or reduced price meals, and the amount of time they spent in distance learning.

Depending on the date of your student's enrollment, your card may arrive anytime between April and the end of June. You will receive one card and the funds on the card will be replenished monthly, for as long as your student qualifies for the benefit. Please note that students only qualify for P-EBT benefits for the months they participated in distance learning days.

The P-EBT cards are being mailed to District 287 and then we will send them out to families and ensure you receive them. Note that some Minnesota school districts opted to have cards mailed directly to families, however, this was not the case for District 287, as we felt that our District had the more up-to-date addresses and contact information.
