Responsible for fiscal management and student record administration. This department manages accounts payable and receivables, budget, fund raising/donations, grants, payroll, purchasing, tuition billings and state reporting. Additionally, it manages the school district's facilities, maintenance, food service and transportation needs.

The Communications department, guided by the Superintendent, strategically plans and executes communication initiatives. This encompasses digital media, internal communications, staff engagement, the website, media relations, and external communications.

Each site within Intermediate District 287 features a mental health team. The teams include School Psychologists, Social Workers, Behavior Support Professionals, School Counselors, and Student Safety Coaches. They address student mental health concerns during regular school days or in crisis situations. The district-wide Mental Health team assists students and families in accessing programs and support within the Hennepin County Community.

The Teaching & Learning Department empowers programs to improve student outcomes through focused support for high leverage instructional practices; strong literacy assessment, instruction and interventions; and clear and robust curriculum resources. Our staff helps classroom teams incorporate Academic Standards, IEP goals, Social-Emotional Learning and Culturally Relevant practices into their daily planning within a supportive environment.
