West Suburban Summer School
Welcome to our 47th Summer Program
West Suburban Summer School (WSSS) offers summer classes to students entering grades 2-12 in the fall of the upcoming school year. WSSS serves students who demonstrate an intense interest/passion about a topic, and are comfortable moving at a faster pace or pursuing a topic in depth. We also invite students from non member school districts (at a slightly higher fee). Instructors design enrichment classes in their area of expertise to provide students with unique experiences to challenge their abilities.
Classes are fee-based and designed to challenge the unique abilities of talented students.
- Classes are focused on a theme that includes several disciplines such as math, science, writing, and art. Most classes are limited to sixteen students.
- Students are invited to participate because of their recognized talents and academic strengths.
- An invitation with a registration code is needed to register for classes.
- Instructors prepare feedback for students, which is sent to families, but no grades are given.
- WSSS does not give academic credit for courses, but course information will be provided to those who wish to request credit from their home schools.
- This program is self-supporting. It is not funded by independent school districts or gifted and talented programs.
