District 287 proudly serves the special education, career & technical education, online education, and alternative learning needs of 12 member districts. We collaborate with Hennepin Technical College, where some academic programs are located, as well as operating programs in four sites throughout the west metro area.

We are pleased to offer the following services to our members:

Priority Enrollment

Members enjoy priority enrollment for our diverse range of schools, ensuring access to specialized programs that cater to various learning needs.

Special Education Programs

Our dedicated team offers special education services for students with various conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), blind/visually impaired (BVI), deaf/hard of hearing (DHH), deaf-blind, developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD), emotional behavior disorders (EBD), and low-incidence disabilities.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Intermediate District 287’s special education programs require a referral from one of our member school districts.

Alternative Learning Academies

Our Alternative Learning Center (ALC) Academies are open to all high school age students (14-23). There is no cost to students or families.

Low-Cost and No-Cost Rentals

We strive to provide affordable and accessible spaces for member districts to meet for general meetings, training groups, or tele-conference sessions.
