Masks recommended, not required, beginning Monday, June 13

287 Families,

Thank you for trusting us to serve your amazing students this school year. We look forward to seeing some of you during summer school in the coming weeks and months. We wanted to share our updated safety guidelines for the summer.

Masks recommended, not required, beginning Monday, June 13: Given low COVID-19 case rates in District 287 and a low transmission in our community, we will no longer require masks for staff and students in District 287 buildings, rather, they are highly recommended.

Please know that we will continue to closely follow case rate data in our District and transmission rates in our community to determine if we need to return to required masking. For example, should there be an uptick in cases at a building or programs, we will consider a change to our masking practices.

Five day isolation if a student tests positive: Beginning Monday, June 13, students who test positive for COVID-19 must isolate for five days. This change aligns with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention isolation guidelines

Rapid/Antigen tests are available during summer: Please connect with your school nurse if you have a student who has COVID symptoms. We have antigen tests available for families to take home, contact your school nurse/administrator for more details. See this video to learn how to use the rapid tests.

Wanding students: We will continue the practice of wanding students this summer until we can install a more permanent solution.

Have a great summer.
