From Intermediate District 287

Superintendent Marcy Doud Message

Dear Intermediate District 287 Families,

We know recent ICE activity in the Twin Cities has sparked understandable worry among our communities. At Intermediate District 287, your family's safety and sense of belonging are our priority.

We want you to know that we do not collect information about a student’s or family’s immigration status for enrollment or attendance, and all students have the same right to attend school and receive services. If any law enforcement or immigration officials come to our schools, we will follow the law, protect student privacy, and consult our legal counsel before granting access to non‑public areas or student information.

Our counselors, social workers, and other student support staff are available if your student is feeling anxious and would like to process their feelings with a trusted staff member.

If your contact information has changed, please reach out to your student’s school so we can stay connected with you.

Intermediate District 287 cannot provide legal advice. However, there are many local community resources available to families/caregivers. Below is a list of some local resources and tips to communicate with your student:

We are sharing these resources for informational purposes only and do not endorse any organization's point of view.

Thank you for trusting Intermediate District 287 with your students. We stand with every student and family/caregiver in our community.

Sincerely,

Marcy Doud
Superintendent
