Testing, Quarantine, Face-Coverings: FAQs

Dear 287 Families,

Safety is top of mind as we prepare for the start of school, and unpredictability will again be a hallmark of the school year. We commit to doing our very best to communicate regularly with families as we review and plan for new safety recommendations from state and local officials, many of which seem to change rapidly.

Last night, the District 287 school board approved several new safety policies. The new quarantine and face-covering policies will take effect on Monday, August 30, 2021, and the weekly COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated students will begin at some point in mid to late September. I ask for your continued patience as we plan and coordinate these efforts. More information is forthcoming.

We’re providing as much current information as possible on our COVID-19 Family FAQs webpage and will continue to make updates immediately after planning decisions are made about testing, quarantine, and more.
