First Blind, Female Rapper Hopes to Inspire
Posted 01/18/2017 01:27PM

After losing her eyesight, a local teen has turned to rapping in an effort to inspire others facing difficult circumstances.

Antyenette Walker, a 19-year-old Northwest Tech Center student, lost the vision in her left eye at 12-years old. Six years later, optic atrophy quickly took the remaining sight in her right eye.

Faced with learning how to walk with a cane and reading braille, Walker struggled to stay positive in school at Intermediate District 287.
