Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination is a 21st century learning program that encourages students to have fun, take risks, focus, and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), the arts and service learning. Our participants build on their strengths, while learning patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, project management and rapid prototyping. Fermi-Off-The-Wall Math League

Fermi Math League is an internet-based math competition appropriate for enrichment, small group work and individuals wanting creative, technology-rich experiences. In its 16th year, the Fermi Math League is open to school districts and individual students world-wide. Join us as we play around with math, art, and technology. Gifted Math Program

Intermediate District 287 Gifted Education Services, through Northern Star Online, is offering an advanced math program as an option for elementary and middle school talented math students during the school year. The Gifted Math Program is a combination of online learning and web-based seminars with occasional site-based classroom meetings. To qualify for the program, testing for students in grades 4 - 7 is held in the spring of each year. For additional information about the Gifted Math Program click here

Honors Mentor Connection (HMC)

Honors Mentor Connection is a rigorous academic course offered by Intermediate District 287's Gifted Education Services. This is an opportunity for highly motivated and talented high school students to participate in advanced study in an area of great interest, often a potential career focus, under the guidance of an eminent professional in the field. In HMC, students are academically immersed in the setting and produce a project that may be submitted to earn the MN Scholar of Distinction award. West Suburban Summer School (WSSS)

West Suburban Summer School is a program of Intermediate District 287's Gifted Education Services. The program serves identified gifted and talented in our member districts, and students from non-member districts (at a slightly higher fee). Instructors design enrichment classes in their area of expertise to provide gifted students with unique experiences to challenge their abilities.
