Construction*

The goal of this course is to provide students with experiences and examples of the construction industry that will allow them to asess their own abilities and interests in the various construction disciplines.

Areas of study include:

  • Floor framing
  • Wall framing
  • Stair framing
  • Insulation and drywall
  • Blueprint reading

*A student lab fee is required.

Outdoor Motor Sports

Location: EPC
Time: 10:00 AM, 12:10 PM

Students will learn how to maintain and repair ATV's, motorcycles, mini-bikes, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and small internal combustion engines used on power equipment such as lawn tractors, generators, trimmers, and leaf/snow blowers. Students will also learn engine maintenance, preventive care, problem solving, minor and major engine rebuilding, and how to achieve cutomer satisfaction. The curriculum focuses on skill building projects and troubleshooting. Students learn industry standards and current technology using both factory and after-market manuals and text.

  • Troubleshooting techniques

Auto Body Repair*

Location: EPC
Time: 8:00 AM, 12:10 PM

This course is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of auto body technology. This course can start students on their way towards becoming proficient in the auto body industry.

Areas of study include:

  • Automotive refinishing
  • Detailing
  • Estimating
  • Painting
  • Welding

Automotive Technology/Mechanics*

Location: EPC
Time: 10:00 AM, 12:10 PM

Students will study basic automotive systems and begin techniques, and maintenance procedures regularly preformed on automobiles. Students will conduct repair and maintenance procedures on tires, steering, suspension, and electrical systems on donated cars or their own vehicles. In addition, students will acquire shop safety habits essential to work in an automotive service shop.

Areas of study include:

  • Suspension and steering
  • Basic automotive electricity
  • Brakes
  • Engine performance and troubleshooting
