Innovation

innovator of the month

Paul Kracl from CIP is our Innovator of The Month!

Paul found an app called Edmodo and started using it in his class!  It is like a Facebook page for your classroom! Students can get assignments on there and turn them in.  It is also a great tool for teaching your students to be respectful on the Internet!

Paul has also been working very hard to help all of CIP organize their iPads/apps, keep them clean and share ideas with other teachers and staff!!!
Thank you Paul!

Meet our Innovation Coaches

Jason Backes
“Innovation is the creation of better or more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas. As one of the innovation coaches at NEC, I welcome and embrace each of these.  I try to help facilitate others in the exploration or the use of products, technology, processes or ideas so we can reach our potential as educators teaching students and each other in exciting new ways.” Jason Backes

Megan Dargis
"Innovation is about sharing knowledge in new or different ways, this can be done with technology or just with simple brainstorming.  By passing along this knowledge you can ignite a spark within someone else that creates a new idea or helps to make an existing idea grow, develop and become an even better idea.  My goal is to ignite the sparks within other educators and students to set ablaze innovation within our district." Megan Dargis

Ryan Quitney
"Innovation is the use of the technology that we have available to better teach and understand the materials that we have on hand.  With so many new gadgets coming out each year and the access that we have to them, especially in this district, it would be a shame to not integrate them into our students learning.  My goal is to expand the knowledge of all our students through innovation, while always trying to use the newest technology to its fullest."

The Innovation Forum

The goal of the Innovation Forum is to promote the discussion and development of innovative ideas in education. It is an open forum administered by District 287 for discussing all aspects of innovation. Because many of the members are District 287 staff and teachers, much of the conversation will center on innovation particular to our District. Guests and outside members are welcome to participate in and benefit from such discussions. We value outside ideas.

Discussion forums are moderated to preserve the spirit of an open, interactive discussion. The forum guidelines for posting are important and should be read and accepted before you choose to participate. We will take appropriate steps to ensure discussions adhere to these guidelines.

The contents of the forum discussions are persona
l to the poster of those comments and do not necessarily represent the views or opinions of anyone else or Intermediate District 287. The District has not pre-screened or approved postings and is not responsible for their contents.  The first time on the forum you will need to create an account for yourself.
