Independent Study

The Independent Study Program is an individualized program for the student who has fallen behind in credits and is self-motivated to complete high school graduation requirements. Success in this program is dependent upon the student attending on a regular basis and completing assignments. Students meet once a week with their teacher(s) and then complete assignments on their own time.

Most students use this option to make up one or two credits, often while attending day school elsewhere. Independent Study is offered year-round. Students must meet one or more of the Graduation Incentives guidelines and be 16 years of age or older to be eligible for enrollment.

Courses offered may include: Art, Business Skills, ESL (English as a Second Language), German, Health, Language Arts, English, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies and Business Education. Courses vary and may not be available at all locations. Please call the contact person for course information. Quarter, trimester, semester, and year credits can be earned.
