Welcome to Special Education at District 287
Minnesota's Intermediate District 287 Special Education serves students with low incidence special education needs from 13 member school districts in the suburban Twin Cities area. Students from other districts may also be referred by the special education director in their home school and be accepted as programming space permits.
We complement and support the efforts of our member districts by providing unique special education program options, assistive technology and individualized instruction for children and young adults from birth to 21 years of age.
The courses and educational opportunities we offer are the outgrowth of needs identified by our member districts. We're committed to the continuous development of highly-specialized programs that allow students with low-incidence impairments to receive a quality education and to achieve their full potential.
